Our new baby: a browser based collaborative playlist editor which enables users to merge video files from various online sources into a single, continuously played clip. The result can be easily shared and embedded as if it was a single file. The source clips are merely indexed by Dragontape, but remain in their original locations.

Finalist at CP Europe

Nanshan Art Museum Facade

In collaboration with Szövetség 39 and Gábor Papp, we have developed a conception for a unique facade design to be installed on the facade of Nanshan Art Museum in Shenzhen, China.

The idea behind it is that the graphical output is generated by sound. We are about to compose a mix out of art-historically relevant pieces of music, talks, poems and sound art samples. The audio source builds the input for our software that transfers it into vector based graphics.The graphical output is divided into segments and will be printed on laminating foil to be applied on the glass panels. The production of the project is planned for 2010.

Biobi Corporate Identity Design

Among the tasks listed below, we have developed the website of the brand new venture Biobi Ltd. The design idea was not to lead visitors through a conventional navigation bar, they should use the hypertext links in the posts instead to get closer to information about products, concepts, member’s thoghts and the company itself.

We have designed the entire corporate identity including logo, colors, presentations, as well as corporate image of the first product in their planned product line.

Everyplant

Last December we were tasked by the major Hungarian Telco company to develop a multiple screen system. Our assignment was to design a wall mounted installation for a 10 sqm surface in accordance with the architectural concept of the office. The theme of the task was given:

* visual: organic, plant-like,

* content: ubiquity and multi-functionality of technology in contemporary spaces.

We have developed a flexible system consisting of 20 independently functioning screens. The visible wiring became a defining part of the well-designed graphic composition in order to emphasize the organic characteristic and the plant-like look of the installation. We used cables consisting of 4 mm wide steel spirals. The relative rigidity of this material ensures that the cables are nicely guided along an arched pattern. Key points of these arches are fastened onto the wall by super-strong, wall-embedded power magnets. The screens are attached to the wall with a hook and loop fastener allowing for a completely new re-arrangement in the future.

The system has a standard power plug in the middle, which is the main node of the power distribution and the nucleus of the pattern.

POW! at New York Design Week

In collaboration with G-Lab we started POW! – a new venture in order to develop and offer interactive architectural installations. We have been invited to “Soft Is The New Cool” exhibition at New York Design Week where we show the current state of our responsiv lighting research project. We have organized a bunch of meetings with architects and interaction designers and will present them our works and ideas of future collaborations.

Mic Moss

The Mic Moss is a modular system (under development) made of a special cladding material that can be altered by any kind of sound. Equipped with small microphones the surface continuously “listens” to its environment. Each microphone has a heating pad attached to it, which is able to heat up the plate within a certain radius. The plate – covered with thermochromatic pigments – will change its color depending on the steel plate heating up or cooling down. By that, the surface becomes an imprint of the acoustic noises in its environment. The system consists of 2 by 1 meter steel plates that can be connected to build a larger surface.

This product (under development) is a motion sensitive lighting system with a special lens filled with fluid silicone.

As the light goes through the liquid, every small vibration changes the light beam through refraction. The device is equipped with a motion sensor which controls a DC motor inside the lamp. When someone enters the area under the lamp, the vibration caused by the motor generates small waves in the tank, which are projected to the floor. Installed in a grid in a larger space, it results in a beautifully immerse floor projection, though it works in small spaces as well.

Csoma’s Wheel

The work is a special contribution to the “Saving Csoma’s Room” project by Kitchen Budapest in the remote monastery of Himalayan Zangla. In order to create a prayer-wheel-like installation that is able to show a short animation, we used bicycle parts, LEDs, printed film on a drum and light transmitting concrete.
